Every first visit should include a trip to Fortin Conde de Mirasol . Built between 1845 and 1855, “El Fortin” is a great place to let your imagination take you back in time. It’s the best place to learn about the island’s history and also has fantastic views of Isabella II, surrounding neighborhoods, as well as the main island of Puerto Rico. The staff at the fort are some of the nicest people on the island and are very proud to share the story of Vieques.
